Case · White goods rental on subscription

Laravel webshop for Homie · From WordPress to one custom platform.

Homie rents out washing machines, dryers and fridges on subscription. For that, orders, subscriptions, payments and deliveries have to fit together seamlessly. The old platform was WordPress with WooCommerce, with a separate middleware to three external systems.

We baked this one ourselves.

We took care of the strategy, the design and the SEO safeguarding. Hoort built the platform in Laravel and Vue.

The recipe

How we built the shop for Homie.

How we baked it for HomieIn Laravel
01
Design

Strategy and design

We took care of the strategy and the design: what the new platform needs to do, for consumers and for Homie's business clients. And we safeguarded findability during the switch.

02
Build

Custom development in Laravel

Hoort built a new platform in Laravel and Vue in six months. The middleware now sits inside the platform itself, the ERP, payments and logistics have been reconnected, and background jobs run through Laravel Horizon. More than 40,000 records came along, including the encrypted data. It has its own CMS, and the site is multilingual.

03
Live

homieathome.nl

Homie now runs on one platform. According to Hoort's case, customers hardly noticed the switch: the same accounts, the same contracts.

What Homie does, for consumers and businesses.

01

One platform instead of three layers

WordPress, WooCommerce and a separate middleware have been replaced by one application in Laravel and Vue, with subscriptions, contracts, payments and appliances as its own components.

Category pages are still at the same addresses as in the old WooCommerce shop, such as /product-category/wassen/.
